Overview
We’re excited that you’ve chosen to add Lumiant to your practice! One way to accelerate your adoption of Lumiant is to integrate with your existing systems, such as Salesforce. If you are considering synchronising your data between Salesforce and Lumiant, you’ve come to the right place.
Integrations can seem daunting, especially when there’s a lot of data involved, but we’ve put together this guide to help streamline the process and give you a preview of what to expect throughout the process.
This guide will walk you through the basics of the integration and how it can benefit your practice, instructions for how to prepare your fields for the integration, the stages of the process, and how to manage your data post-integration.
What does it do?
Simply stated, integrating Lumiant and Salesforce syncs your data from Salesforce to Lumiant to give you more time to do what you do best: serve your clients. If you’ve already captured client data in Salesforce, we can put that data to work straight away in the Lumiant platform. Fact-finding and review time become easier and more streamlined and your clients have the added benefit of seeing all their governing information in the Lumiant visual portal.
Using a one-way directional sync that updates every 24 hours in the background, you will have the benefit of updated, consolidated data without the manual legwork of entering information twice. This is managed by Lumiant outside of business hours to minimise any impact on your clients.
How does this benefit my practice?
Setting up a Salesforce integration with Lumiant has many benefits to you, your practice, and your clients. If you want to provide a robust experience for clients without sacrificing additional time and energy, you might be ready to integrate with your Salesforce instance. Consider the following benefits:

If you’re ready to get started on integrating Salesforce to Lumiant, let’s dig into the details.
What information is synchronized?
The amount of data in Salesforce and Lumiant can feel overwhelming. But when we sync your data each day, we take the stress out of ensuring you have current data ready when you need it.
In total, we have more than 280 fields that are available for integration. These fields cover everything from client and household details, to goals and tasks, as well as governance. You can see all available fields in our Salesforce Data Map. The Lumiant team will work with you to determine which information you should sync based on your business needs.
One concern that often comes up is ending up with duplicate data. To mitigate double entry of data, our integration can enable automatic syncing of data between Salesforce and Lumiant, which means that updates made in Salesforce will be automatically reflected in Lumiant, reducing the need for manual data entry and minimizing the risk of errors or duplicate entries.

Step 2: Capture Your Data
As mentioned, the next step in the process is to capture the data you want to sync. As a start, you’ll need to update the client mapping file that we send to you once we begin this process to ensure that the external ID is captured for every existing client. You should also complete the Salesforce Data Map and map your Salesforce objects and fields to the available Lumiant fields.
Once the mapping files are complete, notify your Customer Success Representative and we’ll get them to our tech team to review.
Step 3: Map Your Data
Our team will begin to review your files and the mapping fields. If necessary, our Customer Success team will clarify any questions the technical team may have. Once the mapping files are reviewed, we’ll confirm the timeline for development with you and issue an invoice for the final payment to begin the development of your integration. Development will begin upon receipt of the final payment.
