To help you get started, we noticed that you had a low score for the physical |intellectual | financial | environmental | spiritual | social |occupational | emotional [delete what doesn’t apply] dimension. Here are some things you can do to improve that score over the coming year.

[Delete as appropriate]

Physical

The physical dimension recognises our need for physical activity, diet, sleep and nutrition. To improve your score, consider setting the following goals:

  • Improving your diet by eating out less, eating more nutritious foods or eating vegetarian two to three times a week
  • Getting regular exercise by signing up to a sports club, joining a gym or boot camp, going walking with friends once a week
  • Improving your sleep by ensuring you get seven to eight hours a night, avoid screen time a few hours before bed (maybe you want to take up reading?), avoid large meals or snacking before bed, buy a new mattress and pillows
  • Ensure you’re protected in case of an emergency by getting the correct insurances that cover the things you need or appropriately planning for your care needs later in life

Intellectual

The intellectual dimension recognises creative abilities and finding ways to expand your or your loved one’s knowledge and skills. To improve your score, consider the following goals:

  • Investing in hobbies or personal interests, such as setting aside a reading time each night, taking up a creative art like painting or photography or setting aside time to attend a lecture, musical performance or play
  • Saving up to continue your education or empowering a loved one to continue theirs through university, college or online courses
  • Spending time teaching your loved ones or participating in discussions, intellectual conversations or debates

Financial

The financial dimension is about your satisfaction with current and future financial situations. To improve your score, consider the following goals:

  • Consider your position at work and whether you can ask for a promotion or whether now is the time to move jobs.
  • Set yourself a budget and make sure your savings are aligned with your life goals
  • Create a plan of attack to tackle your debt and pay it down in a manageable way
  • Start planning for your future retirement life. Do you need to start contributing more for the lifestyle you want in retirement?
  • Protect those you love by ensuring your family have the proper insurances in place to protect your income should anything happen

Environmental

The environmental dimension is about living in a stimulating environment and supports wellbeing. This could be your home or the environment more broadly. To improve your score, consider the following:

  • Reduce your energy and water consumption at home and recycle whenever possible
  • Spend more time outdoors and specify a time to spend time in nature or volunteering
  • Invest in a home office or house upgrade to improve your living situation
  • Save up for a new home or holiday house that meets your and your family’s needs

Spiritual

The spiritual dimension expands our sense of purpose and meaning in life. It’s often where we enjoy giving our time to others. To improve your score, consider the following:

  • Spend more time with a group in your community that shares your beliefs
  • Volunteer your time to causes you care about that have a positive impact on society
  • Help others understand their values in life and determine what’s important to them

Social

The social dimension develops your sense of belonging and connection with others. To improve your score, consider the following:

  • Set aside time to spend with your loved ones, such as a regular date night, movie night or annual holidays
  • Dedicate more time to keep in touch with family or friends
  • Meet new people by participating in clubs, volunteering efforts or events
  • Reduce time spent at work so you can spend more time with those you care about

Occupational

The occupational dimension is about personal enrichment and satisfaction derived from work. To improve your score, consider the following:

  • Pursue a career with purpose and align with your values. This might mean planning for a career change
  • Reduce the amount of time you need to spend at work so you can spend more time following your passions
  • Invest in new skills that will help you succeed at work and empower you to do more of what you love
  • Bring balance to your life by carving out scheduled time for leisure and relaxing activities

Emotional

The emotional dimension enables you to cope effectively with life and create satisfying relationships. To improve your score, consider the following:

  • Spend more time nurturing your relationships with people or groups that allow you to be yourself
  • Join or start a support group to help others with something you like to do best
  • Spend your time and money without guilt by creating suitable structures and frameworks that help you deal with your feelings effectively.

While the above are things to consider, remember each area of wellbeing means something different to everyone. However, we hope they are helpful thought starters for you and your partner as you set your resolutions for 2023.

Once you have set your goals, we are on hand to keep you accountable to achieve them and would be more than happy to set up a meeting to discuss how we can help.

Good luck with setting your goals, and we will be in touch soon.

Kind regards,

Adviser
